Discovery Junction Homeschool Co-op

Discovery Junction Homeschool Co-op is a nature-based, hands-on homeschool community serving children ages 2–10 through immersive, experiential learning opportunities designed to spark curiosity, connection, and a lifelong love of learning.

Rather than relying on worksheets or traditional classroom models, Discovery Junction brings education to life through exploration, sensory-rich activities, outdoor adventures, themed learning experiences, practical life skills, science investigations, art, literature, and collaborative community experiences. Our program blends elements of Montessori-inspired learning, play-based exploration, and project-based education in a way that allows children to learn by seeing, touching, building, experimenting, creating, and engaging directly with the world around them. Each week, locations are intentionally selected to align with the curriculum being studied, transforming nature preserves, farms, parks, beaches, museums, and community spaces into living classrooms. Discovery Junction is designed to support both children and parents by creating a welcoming homeschool community where families can build meaningful relationships while children participate in thoughtfully curated educational experiences. Activities are scalable for multiple age groups and learning styles, allowing younger and older learners to engage together in developmentally appropriate ways. Topics explored throughout the year may include marine biology, environmental science, gardening, homesteading, wildlife, history, life skills, art, sensory exploration, STEM, herbal studies, ecology, agriculture, and more — all through engaging, hands-on experiences that encourage critical thinking, creativity, confidence, and real-world connection. At its core, Discovery Junction is about creating a rich educational environment where children are free to explore, ask questions, build relationships, and develop a genuine connection to learning and the natural world.
