I love teaching and tutoring young learners of all abilities, including those with learning differences.

I bring 14 years of experience as a classroom kindergarten teacher, alongside more than 5 years of online virtual tutoring. To best serve my students, I offer two distinct learning pathways: Pathway 1 (Down Syndrome & Intellectual Disabilities): I specialize in a reading and learning program utilizing the whole-word, fast-flash reading method, dot math, and a picture vocabulary program packed with engaging facts. I have taught my son to read (who has Down syndrome) as well as several other children with Down syndrome using this whole-word method. Pathway 2 (Early Phonics & Elementary Tutoring): I provide personalized, fast-paced phonics lessons tailored specifically to your child's unique needs and interests. I use fun songs and stories to teach foundational phonics rules, and I truly believe that many children are ready to begin reading after mastering just five letter sounds! To keep lessons engaging, I weave fascinating animal facts in between our core concepts. We can focus strictly on phonics and reading skills, or create a well-rounded blend that incorporates math, writing, science, and social studies. I offer in-my-home lessons here in Jacksonville, as well as virtual sessions.
