87 Sound Academy provides online music production and audio education for students ages 12–19.

Our structured Creative and Technical pathways help students progress from beginner fundamentals to more advanced, independent work through live online classes and flexible self-paced courses. The Creative pathway focuses on beatmaking, composition, sound selection, drum programming, arranging, sound design, and developing an individual creative identity. The Technical pathway introduces students to recording, audio editing, signal flow, EQ, compression, effects, mixing, and other practical audio-engineering skills. Students can begin with Level 1 and continue through Levels 2 and 3 as their skills and confidence grow. Courses are beginner-friendly while remaining suitable for students with previous music production experience. Lessons emphasize practical projects and skill development rather than passive video watching, allowing students to apply what they learn inside the digital audio workstation of their choice. 87 Sound Academy was created by an experienced music producer, educator, and touring playback engineer whose professional credits include work with H.E.R., Charlie Puth, Janelle Monáe, Teyana Taylor, and other major artists. This real-world experience helps students understand how creative ideas and technical audio skills connect to professional music production, live performance, and audio careers. 87 Sound Academy is an approved Step Up For Students provider. Eligible Florida families may use PEP or FES-UA scholarship funds for qualifying Academy courses.
